After her daughters left home, Phylis decided to return to her first love--horses. While getting in touch with people in the horse community, she discovered TROT and instantly fell in love with the kids and the volunteers. After volunteering for just a few short months, she became the volunteer coordinator in 2008. "Working with TROT is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done." --Phylis Mourning

Renita is a graduate of Missouri Southern State University with a BA in music.  After 20 years of raising a family and assisting in her husband's business it was time for a change.  In 2003 she began easing out of the business responsibilities to explore other interests.  Renita's love of horses and passion for special needs children has been with her since her early teen years. One of the best gifts she ever received from her husband was an introduction to Therapeutic Riding for those with challenges.

Renita became a TROT volunteer shortly after moving to the Midlothian area in 2006.  She became Rider Coordinator in 2008. "When you are working with the TROT riders and their horses, there are no worries, nothing else matters.... it's all about the kids."
