Millennium 3’s Leadership Group 183 will be hosting volunteer days for Therapeutic Riding of Texas (TROT) on Saturday August 29-30, 2009 in Cedar Hill, TX
CEDAR HILL, Texas –August 28, 2009 – Millennium 3 Leadership Team 183 will be hosting volunteer days for The Therapeutic Riding of Texas (TROT) on August 29-30, 2009 to help improve the Gemini Farms facilities.
Millennium 3 LP183 will be raising money and materials to update the TROT barn and arena so it is equipped with the necessary items to operate during inclement weather. Current conditions limit the number of riders they can accommodate and help.
TROT is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving Dallas-Fort Worth area special-needs riders and is a Premier accredited therapeutic riding center through the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). TROT’s nationally recognized therapeutic horsemanship curriculum includes safety, grooming, saddling, ground handling as well as riding.
TROT has provided recreational riding with therapeutic benefits for children and adults for more than 20 years. Riding improves muscle tone and strength, balance, posture, coordination, endurance, motor development and range of motion. In addition, the unique relationship formed with a horse often leads to higher levels of confidence, patience and self-esteem in riders with emotional or mental disabilities.
TROT is a non-profit organization with a 501c-3 status. Current funding comes from personal contributions and fund-raising activities. All donations are tax deductible.
