CEDAR HILL, Texas – Feb. 11, 2008 – Therapeutic Riding of Texas (TROT), a non-profit organization
dedicated to serving Dallas-Fort Worth area special-needs riders, will host an open house and
volunteer training Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 from 1:00–3:00 pm.

Session I classes begin Mar. 31 and meet Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. -7:30 p.m. each
week through May 22nd at Gemini Farms located at 1701 South Duncanville Road in Cedar Hill.
For more than 20 years TROT has provided recreational riding with therapeutic benefits for children
and adults. Considered a progressive form of therapy, therapeutic riding has proven effective in
improving muscle tone and strength, balance, posture, coordination, endurance, motor development,
range of motion, and emotional well being. In addition, the unique relationship formed with a horse
often leads to more confidence, patience and self-esteem in riders with emotional or mental
disabilities.

TROT provides weekly classes seven months out of the year to more than 50 riders of all ages and
capabilities. Volunteers from all walks of life from Dallas, Ellis and Tarrant Counties participate in the
program and several volunteer opportunities still exist. For more information visit www.trottx.org.
“I’ve been involved with TROT for over 20 years and continue to be amazed by the relationship
between each horse and the rider.” said Christine Radosta, a certified therapeutic riding instructor with
the TROT program. “Each rider benefits on so many levels. When you put kids & horses together
miracles happen.”

TROT is a NARHA (The North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) Premier accredited
therapeutic riding center. TROT’s nationally recognized therapeutic horsemanship curriculum includes
safety, grooming, saddling, ground handling as well as riding.

TROT is a non-profit organization with a 501c-3 status. Current funding comes from personal
contributions and fund-raising activities. All donations are tax deductible.
