Therapeutic Riding of Texas (TROT) Loses Lead Instructor
CEDAR HILL, Texas – September 29, 2008 – The Therapeutic Riding of Texas (TROT) announces the
loss of long-time TROT advocate – Christine Radosta. Radosta, age 59, died Saturday, September 27
from cancer. Memorial services are being held Saturday, October 4 from 1-3 p.m. at Gemini Farms, home
to TROT, where she spent most of her time. Gemini Farms is located at 1701 South Duncanville Road,
Cedar Hill, TX 75104.
Radosta joined TROT 25 years ago, just after the organization’s inception and after volunteering became
the lead instructor. Her personal business, Happy Trails School of Horsemanship provided horses used
by the TROT program.
Radosta’s husband of more than 30 years, Dr. Bob Radosta, has requested all donations be made to
TROT in lieu of flowers. Donations may be mailed to the TROT office, 1701 South Duncanville Road,
Cedar Hill, TX 75104. Checks should be made out to TROT and list “in memory of Christine Radosta” on
the memo line.
TROT is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving Dallas-Fort Worth area special-needs riders and is
a Premier accredited therapeutic riding center through the North American Riding for the Handicapped
Association (NARHA). TROT’s nationally recognized therapeutic horsemanship curriculum includes
safety, grooming, saddling, ground handling as well as riding.
TROT provides recreational riding with therapeutic benefits for children and adults. Riding improves
muscle tone and strength, balance, posture, coordination, endurance, motor development and range of
motion. In addition, the unique relationship formed with a horse often leads to higher levels of confidence,
patience and self-esteem in riders with emotional or mental disabilities.
TROT is a non-profit organization with a 501c-3 status. Current funding comes from personal
contributions and fund-raising activities. All donations are tax deductible.
