Therapeutic Riding of Texas (TROT) To Be At Macy’s at Parks Mall in Arlington
CEDAR HILL, Texas – September 26, 2008 – The Therapeutic Riding of Texas (TROT) will be one of
many local non-profit organizations represented at the annual “Macy’s Shop for a Cause” event, held at
the Parks Mall in Arlington Saturday, September 20. Macy’s celebrates a national day of support for local
non-profit organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
For a donation of $5.00 to TROT guests will receive a coupon for 10-20% off many items. The coupon is
valid September 20 in-store or online. Guests may also enter for a chance to win a $500 gift card.
TROT is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving Dallas-Fort Worth area special-needs riders and is
a Premier accredited therapeutic riding center through the North American Riding for the Handicapped
Association (NARHA). TROT’s nationally recognized therapeutic horsemanship curriculum includes
safety, grooming, saddling, ground handling as well as riding.
TROT has provided recreational riding with therapeutic benefits for children and adults for more than 20
years. Riding improves muscle tone and strength, balance, posture, coordination, endurance, motor
development and range of motion. In addition, the unique relationship formed with a horse often leads to
higher levels of confidence, patience and self-esteem in riders with emotional or mental disabilities.
TROT is a non-profit organization with a 501c-3 status. Current funding comes from personal
contributions and fund-raising activities. All donations are tax deductible.
