Trot History

At the inception of the program there was one horse, one rider and a few volunteers.  Since then TROT has grown to serving hundreds of riders over the years.  In 2002 TROT moved to its current location at Gemini Farms, 20 miles south of downtown Dallas.  Since that time the organization has served between 20 and 30 riders per year, utilizing 10 schooling horses, three instructors and numerous volunteers.  All classes are held under the supervision of certified instructors.

TROT is affiliated with NARHA.  As a NARHA. operating center TROT complies with industry standards to provide safe, quality programming.  In 2000, TROT completed an extensive accreditation process.  In 2001 and again in 2007 TROT was awarded the status of "Premier Facility."  This means that the organization excelled in all areas of the accreditation process including administration, program and facility.  At this time TROT is the only accredited therapeutic riding program operating in Dallas County.

TROT is a non-profit organization with a 501c-3 status.
